This is a tumblelog, kinda like a blog but with short-form, mixed-media posts with stuff I like. Scroll down a bit to start reading, or a bit more to read more about me.
You stay up for 16 hours, he stays up for days. You take a hot shower, he goes days without running water. You complain of a headache, he sees others get shot and keeps moving forward. You wear anti-war shirts, he fights your right to wear that shirt. You make sure you have your phone every where you go, he clutches his dog tags, and cross. You talk trash on your friends, he knows he may never see his again. You walk down to the beach looking for hotties, he patrols the streets looking for terrorists. You complain how hot it is, he doesn’t dare remove his gear to wipe the sweat from his brow. You kiss your lover, he holds a letter close and tries to smell her perfume. You criticize your government, he sees the innocent killed by their OWN people. You only see what the media wants you too, he sees the broken and dead bodies lying around him. You crawl into a soft bed at night, he tries to sleep but is awakened by the sound of mortars. You’re angry because class went over 5 minutes, he is told he will be held for over 2 months. You can go to the mall and get your hair done, he doesn’t have time to brush his teeth today. You hear jokes about the war, he hears gunfire and screams of the wounded. You complain about doing laundry, he wears the same things for days.
All gave some, but some gave all, never forget them, support our troops.

This is a picture of Staff Sergeant Tim Chambers. Staff Sgt. Chambers wears his blues during the annual memorial day “Rolling Thunder” ride to the wall in Washington DC. The ride is done to bring attention to the POW/MIA cause along with veterans benefits. I covered the event while I was in public affairs school. Staff Sgt. Chambers salutes every motorcycle that rides to the wall… This can take four hours or more. He only drops his salute to drink water provided by random spectators. I have seen this in person and it is an emotional thing to witness.

President Barack Obama criticises Republican silence on booing of gay soldier. (x)
This is the reason I fucking love Barack Obama. He’s a real man. Not a man who is motivated by power or money, but a man who works for the true betterment of America.
